Our friends at Titan have been busy indeed.
They've added two more titles to their slate, following the last wave of announcements.
The first is Sharky, an irreverent, thrilling, genre-mashing graphic novel series by A1 creator Dave Elliott and Alex Horley.
Raised alone by his single mum, Sharky discovers that the ‘no-good-S.O.B.’ who contributed to his genes is none other than ODIN, king of the Norse Gods – and his mother is a child of Zeus, ruler of Olympus.
With genes like that it's no surprise that whenever something excites his pubescent hormones, Sharky transforms into a demi-god, complete with rippling muscles and the strength of Hercules.
When two of the black sheep of his family tree visit Earth and create havoc by raising the dead as an army to take over the world, Sharky has to pick sides, with the fate of the planet at stake. With no time for training, it’s a case of working out Superhero 101 as he goes – and if he fails, his friends’ lives are forfeit.
“Alex and myself are huge fans of Jack Kirby, John Buscema, Richard Corben and Frank Frazetta,” says Elliott. “This series is the wild, mutant baby that splices those genes and crosses all those genres.”
Also from Dave Elliot comes Monster Massacre, a new sci-fi/fantasy anthology series from some of comicdom's greatest talents.
The first volume will showcase 10 stories, plus bonus art galleries from Alex Horley and Steve White:
• From the creators of Captain America a Classic Joe Simon and Jack Kirby horror story The Greatest Horror Of Them All from Black Cat Mystery.
• Monster Punch, starring Ira Gerschwin: Monster Fighter by Andy Kuhn (Firebreather, TMNT).
• Hitch, a post apocalyptic zombie story by Dave Dorman (Star Wars, Indiana Jones).
• Zeke & Kro, a macabre black comedy by Mark A Nelson (Aliens).
• A Faery and a Human team up to con everyone in Destiny's Rogues by Ron Marz (Shinku, Sliver Surfer, Green Lantern) and Tom Raney (The Authority, Avengers).
• Daikaiju - Dragons destroy Japan by Vito Delsante (Scooby-Doo) and Javier Aranda (Star Trek, Marksmen).
• El Zombo by Dave Wilkins (El Zombo, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Masters of the Universe) and Dave Elliott! Guest-starring Sharky and Mr Monster.
• Jerry Paris, Arthur Suydam and Dave Elliott bring us Deep Six - day one of the return of Cthulhu.
• Sharky by Dave Elliott and Alex Horley (Sharky, Lobo, Blizzard) sees the novice hero and Thor face Alvin the Dwarf and Devlin the Giant Lice.
• Little Monsters is a prologue to the graphic novel Kingdom of the Wicked by Ian Edginton (Scarlet Traces, Leviathan, Victorian Undead) and D'Israeli (Lazarus Churchyard, Sandman).
“Garry Leach and myself created Monster Massacre for those who wanted their comics less ‘grim and gritty’ and more ‘sexy fun and crazy adventure,’ says Elliott. “Whether you like your action-packed comics high-brow or low-brow, we’ve got you covered!”
Both titles hit stores on September 11, 2013.
