We always enjoy it when a press release promoting a friend's success pops into our inbox so we're positively delighted to see Titan Comics throwing their full support behind the considerable talents of Mr Dan Boultwood.
Briefly previewed in our rundown of Titan's new releases last month, Dan's latest project and solo debut is a four-issue, 1950s B-movie style mini-series, that tells the tale of Dr. Boy Brett and his companion Doris Night, whose day out in the countryside is rudely interrupted by a most unwelcome visitor from outer space…
Can they save Blighty from the rampaging robot, or will Her Majesty's Kingdom fall to the ghastly Grurk? Only time will tell, but for now we'll sit back with a cuppa and enjoy the delightfully stylish trailer for the series.
“IT CAME! can be summed up by calling it a 1950s comedy B-Movie pastiche from a studio that never was," says Dan. "Which, coincidentally, is also how I sum up my everyday life, but with less giant space robots. Only a little less, mind you.”
“We’re incredibly excited to welcome Dan into the Titan Comics fold,” adds editor, Mark McKenzie-Ray. “IT CAME! is a wonderfully witty and fabulously fanciful tribute to the greatest 1950s B-movies, with all the charm and relish of a freshly brewed cuppa. Dan’s artwork is absolutely gorgeous and so different from anything out there right now. IT CAME! represents everything our new imprint is all about.”
It Came! #1 will hit comic stores on 7th August, 2013, and will also be available on the iPad, iPhone, Web, Android, Kindle Fire and on ComiXology.
