Emily VanCamp has been kicking all kinds of ass in Revenge, so it's no surprise that she's caught Marvel's eye along the way.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Joe and Anthony Russo have entered talks with the actress to co-star in the upcoming sequel, which will see Cap (Chris Evans) still struggling to adjust to life in modern day America after the events of The Avengers.
VanCamp's character is currently unconfirmed, but instinct (and the internet) tells us that she'll take on the role of Sharon Carter, aka Agent 13, descendent of Steve Rogers' WWII love interest Peggy (Hayley Atwell).
Rumour has it The Winter Soldier will begin shooting in June rather than in March as previously scheduled, according to a report from Feature Film Casting.
Chris Evans has revealed that he is yet to receive the script for the film, adding that it's not unusual procedure for a Marvel production.
"I don't have a script yet. We start shooting in two months and they haven't given me a script," he told Doug Loves Movies. "That's how Marvel works."
He also confirmed that there will be "some" cameos by fellow Avengers in the film following suggestion that Scarlett Johansson may suit up once more to lend a hand as Black Widow, adding "That's going to get me in trouble," after making the revaluation.
Sebastian Stan, Toby Jones and Samuel L Jackson will all return for the film, along with newcomers Anthony Mackie (as Falcon) and Joe Grillo (as Crossbones).
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is set to hit cinemas on April 4, 2014.
