As far as perfect casting goes, there's not many who'd argue that Robert Downey Jr. does a bad job portraying genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist Tony Stark.
But are we about to see the actor hang up his helmet and hand the role of Iron Man to someone else?
An interview in the latest issue of Empire sees the actor hint at it.
"I feel that the first time I played Tony, I did it best… how do you sustain something?" he said.
"I’m not stupid, I like to play ball, I love the company, I love the character, and the business side of things, I’m not too picky about that either… Tony’s going to carry on. Avengers 2 already has a release date… It would probably be the best thing in the world for me [to stop]… I don’t have to overstay my welcome…"
Just so we're clear, Bob, you could never overstay your welcome with us.
If, like us, you're a bit sad at the prospect of bidding farewell to Mr Downey Jr. make yourself feel better with these pics from Iron Man 3 - including the dramatic new poster featuring loads of Iron Men.
Iron Man 3 is released in the UK on April 26th, then a week later in the US.
