Shailene Woodley's MJ Axed From The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Wow. Looks like Marc Webb's made one hell of a change on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The director has decided to remove Shailene Woodley's Mary Jane Watson from the superhero sequel.
The actress revealed the news to Entertainment Weekly, explaining the decision to remove her character was due to long-term plans for future movies.
"Of course I'm bummed," she said. "But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason... Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film."
Director Marc Webb explained in a statement: "I made a creative decision to streamline the story and focus on Peter and [Emma Stone's] Gwen [Stacy] and their relationship.
"Shailene is an incredibly talented actress and while we only shot a few scenes with Mary Jane, we all love working with her."
Despite Mr Webb's kind words, whether the actress will return or not is currently unknown. According to The Wrap, Woodley is unlikely to be back due to her commitments to sci-fi franchise Divergent.
Don't you just love a bit of Hollywood drama?
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in cinemas on May 2, 2014.
