The thought of Billie Piper returning for a final jaunt in the Tardis for the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who was extremely exciting to us.
Fans had been hoping Rose Tyler might return after Matt Smith said last summer: "If I wanted a companion from the past I would say Rose because I am good friends with Billie."
But we're sad to stay that the actress has squashed our dreams. Squashed them dead.
When asked if she was returning to the BBC series during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Piper said: "No. I've not been asked.
"I think Matt Smith said something in passing or in jest like, 'That would be nice', and it became something, but no."
The Moff is a tricksy little blighter, we're holding onto a small glimmer of hope that this might be a ruse. But in our heart of (broken) hearts, something tells us Billie's "No" might just be final.
Boo.
And there's more Doctor Who disappointment in store. John Barrowman has also revealed he hasn't been asked to reprise the role of loveable rogue Captain Jack Harkness for the celebrations.
The actor told The Los Angeles Times that he'd be "disappointed" not to return, saying: "I haven't been asked. I would love to if they ask me.
"[Arrow producer] Andrew Kreisberg has already said if they want me in the 50th anniversary, he will give me the time off to do it. But it's not up to me."
That Mr Moffat had better have some flipping fireworks in store later this year, that's all we're saying.
