Those lovely chaps over at Digital Spy are a jammy lot. The lucky ducks will be exclusively releasing a new set of character posters ahead of Disney’s new –and awesome looking – film, Oz the Great and Powerful.
First up is a great shot of Rachel Weisz set against the fantastical backdrop of the mystical land of Oz. Weisz plays the fearsome witch Evanora who has positioned herself as the royal advisor and protector of Emerald City.
Oz the Great and Powerful is a prequel film based on the books written by L. Frank Baum and the official synopsis is as follows: When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot.
Fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting.
Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late.
As well as starring Franco, Kunis et al, Oz also features the vocal talents of Zach Braff (yanno, JD off Scrubs) and is directed by Sami Raimi (The Evil Dead, Army of Darkness).
The next poster to be revealed on Digital Spy will be tonight at 10pm GMT and tomorrow (25th January) at 5pm and 10pm.
You can catch Oz the Great and Powerful in UK and US cinemas from 8th March.
