Is Aaron Taylor-Johnson The Speedster We've Been Waiting For?

We're counting down the days until the release of Joss Whedon's highly anticipated Avengers 2, and ever since Whedon announced the introduction of two new characters - Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver and his twin sister the Scarlet Witch - the web has been alive with speculation of who will take the mantle of the white-haired speedster.

According to reports, Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is currently a front runner for the role, and would be joining Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, who are set to reprise their roles as Captain America, Thor and the Hulk in the sequel.

Taylor-Johnson returns to the big screen later on this year for Kick-Ass 2, but only time will tell if he will be swapping his mask for a white hair do and some super speed.

The Avengers 2 is set to be released on May 1st in the UK and US.
